I have been on a turmeric kick lately! Turmeric cashew spread, turmeric in my smoothies, and of course turmeric tea! Turmeric has been used for medicinal reasons for thousands of years. Its been used in cooking as well as beauty products. Turmeric has been noted be an anticarcinogen, it aids in boosting the metabolism, helps to lower risk of heart disease, it is anti-inflammatory and as many other healing benefits.

Ginger Turmeric Tea

2 tsp grated ginger

2 tsp turmeric 

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

juice from 1/2 a lemon

1 tbsp maple syrup

2 cups water

Put water, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon and cayenne in a pot and boil. Lower heat and let simmer for 5-8 minutes. Turn off heat. Add lemon and maple syrup. Enjoy!
